The travel day poops…

Starting the travel day off ?around 6:30am? was pretty easy. We had breakfast, grilled cheese and potatoes with a side of milk tea, and said our goodbyes. We only had one truck, 14 people and about 11 bags to take down the mountain to the river. We were cramped up together, but we had the best time! Someone asked me to commentate the ride so I stood up the entire time to make sure I saw something that I could comment on. It was honestly one of the funniest things I’ve ever done; I loved it.

We got to the river and I realized that I had to go to the bathroom. Other girls did too so we put our bags down for the workers to help put them on the boat. We took a blanket and headed to find somewhere to “go” . My teammates and I were trying to walk on the muddy side of a hill while also trying to not slide into the river. We found a place that looked bathroom worthy. We were drawing attention so we had to hide. We hid behind a giant log while two girls held the blanket for additional coverage. I was patiently waiting for my turn as 4 other girls used “the toilet” before me. Things began to move and chill bumps came over me and I tried to rush them. Too much movement from everyone making me laugh and …uhhhh ohhhhh… Then came the turtle head. They finished and it became my turn.

I’m a shy bathroom person so it took me a moment to really get started. And as soon as things started to move through my intestines my leader yells from the boat “hurry up and pee! It shouldn’t take you that long!”, in the most aggravated voice EVER.
I completely stopped pushing. What could have been the best poop ever was completely cut off!! I didn’t want to get yelled at for taking too long, which sucked because I really needed to finish.

After getting on the boat I prayed that the feeling would go away so I could enjoy the ride. About 6 hours later we got off and had some trouble with the border control, but I didn’t have to go to the bathroom again.

We moved to a car because we couldn’t finish our traveling by boat and headed to a police checkpoint. The car ride took about 2 hours and I started to notice that I had to pee again! At the very end of the ride the feeling got so bad that I had chill bumps… again. I was almost in a panic! I was one of the first ones to get my passport checked out so I had to hold it again.

My turn was over and I had to shyly ask our leader to help me find a restroom. Let me say that it was about midnight and everything was closed. The public restrooms were padlocked. I had no hope. I just accepted the fact that I was going to either poop my pants or hold it for God knows how long. All of a sudden the leader was like come with me…. He went through a path that looked like a local market place, very empty, and pointed out a 2 wall shack like thing. I looked at the makeshift shack of a toilet and thought “I can just hold it.” We got closer and the smell became awful. I can’t even to begin to describe what was between the two walls, but I’ll try. Every piece of trash from around was thrown in there, goat poop was in there, and probably/possibly pee from other people.

I sucked my breath in and just had to do it and quick. The guy that was waiting on me started gagging because of the smell of the area so I knew I had to finish soon. I stepped on something that was wet and to this day I will never know what it was that was on my foot. I’m not sure I want to know, to be honest… That was the quickest poop that I’ve ever done and running back up to the group I apologized to the leader that was waiting on me. I never ever want to go through that again! I didn’t even want to tell the team. It was horrible!!!

Everyone was finished with the passport processing so we got into cars and headed to the school.

WHAT A DAY!!!

I tell you this so you know that travel day poops are not always the best! Always know your time limit and have tissues ready. I was so thankful when that day was over! I was so grateful that our temporary home had a normal toilet with toilet paper! Praise the Lord!

I pray that everyone reading this never has to experience such a day, but that you get a kick out of my experience!

Cheers to the worst travel day poop EVER!
