The Kingdom of Heaven

I’ve been in Cambodia for close to two weeks now and it’s felt like we’ve gotten a bit of everything to this point. A typical day has us teaching for four hours and playing with the kids at the orphanage for any spare time we have between meals and team time.

This week our whole team with the exception of Joe ended up at the hospital with upset stomaches but are all feeling well at this point.

Last Sunday as the kids at the orphanage led worship, I felt the presence of the Lord in a special way. Even with singing simple children’s songs like “Father Abraham,” the way these children worshipped created an atmosphere that was open for the presence of God to be in control.

Tears rolled down my face as I felt the Lord tell me to learn from these children.

“Jesus said, “Let the children come to me. Don’t stop them! For the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to those who are like these children.”” Matthew 19:14

The children at this orphanage have unashamedly asked to be prayed for as well as pray for us on a daily basis. Most of these children haven’t had good examples of what a good father looks like but have been connected with The Father and crave to share that with others as well as receive more of His presence.

I admire these kids so much. They have shown me more of what the Kingdom of God looks like. It is a place where we feel confident and reassured. It’s a place where we feel like our true selves and live for others to get a taste of that as well.

Father, make me more like a child. Help me to see myself the way You see me so I can see others the way You see them. Give me a confidence in Your presence. Thank You for always being with me. Thank You for loving me so I can love You back. You are amazing.

We are in Kampong Thom, Cambodia for another two weeks before we head to Thailand. Prayers for health among the team would be appreciated. Looking forward to the next couple weeks!! Thanks for your prayers to this point!
