Thank you Dad

Dad do you remember when I was little and you made us (my brother and I) read the book of Daniel out loud? Well I do! I remember that you would describe everything to us. And our favorite story was about Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego.

Well I decided to read the whole book of Daniel while I was in the hills of India. I told myself that I would read one chapter a day and meditate on it for that day. Once I actually sat down to read it, the words took me back to the nights where you would take the time to show us Gods word. I loved it! I didn’t want to stop reading the chapters. I loved remembering how you would describe the stories. It actually helped me understand it this time.

Our team got the opportunity to lead the village devotional and I decided to volunteer to preach. I decided to talk about the book of Daniel and share what God showed me while I was reading. It was truly amazing and nerve racking at the same time to think that I would actually share my thoughts on the Bible and teach the villagers the Word.

It was incredible!

I forgot one part but it didn’t stop me! I prayed for God to use me and to allow me to speak His words. I had faith that someone heard His words and not mine.

I say all of this to thank you dad! Thank you for taking the time to sit down with me and to teach me from the Bible. It allowed me to share those words with the people in the remote hills of northeast India. I couldn’t have done it without you and God!

If I don’t tell you enough, I love you and appreciate you for everything that you’ve taught me! It made me who I am today.
