Here’s a snapshot of what life has looked like these past few days from your team leaders…
-Bucket showers, which consist of a pitcher of water which you poor on your head and hope for the best.
-Hand washing clothes.
-Teaching at a local school in the mornings with around 70 kids in your class.
-Being a human jungle gym and all the kids literally hanging on you.
-Cooking for ourselves.
-Unexpected power loss which results in star gazing.
-Dance parties while wearing your head lamps.
-Soccer ministry every afternoon, providing a safe outlet for the kids in the community.
-Praying for people in the community.
-Sharing the Gospel during taxi rides.
-Surprise water shortages, which sometimes means you get to skip a shower.
-Worshiping with locals.
-Growing as a community and living with each other 24/7.
We also want to give you a glimpse of how great this team is inside and out.
Team Leaders:
Gabby and Kayleigh
We are super passionate about meeting people where they are at and walking alongside them. Fun fact about Kayleigh, she has an extraordinary gift in pigeon calling.
Fun fact about Gabby, she has all the favorite things. One of those would be cats.
Meet our team:
Sahara: Wildly joyful and super positive. She loves Jesus with all her heart and wants to share that with absolutely everyone.
Tyler: Steadfast and rooted in the Lord. She is hilarious and has some killer dance moves.
Madi: Servant hearted and always willing to do anything. Has an ability to see things in Scripture that can easily be missed.
Lauren: Super blunt and awesome. She has more wisdom than she thinks she does and can quote it like none other.
Lydia: Passionate about sharing where she has come from and giving away what she has learned. She goes with the flow and it doesn’t take much to bother her.
Carley: Has a gift in leading worship and has a beautiful voice. She has a contagious laugh and is super fun to be around.
Oriana: She walks to the beat of her own drum and is totally ok with just being her. She has a caring spirit and desires growth.
Sophia: Initiative taker and always looking for opportunities to love others. She has a smile that can light up a room.
Cassidy: She is a leader and carries a lot of influence. She doesn’t mean to be funny but she is.
Katie:Super wise and creative. She loves little ones and is wiling to help where needed.
Bethany: Sweetest and kindest heart. Wants to grow and not let moments pass her by.
