Salt and Light

Wow, hello everyone! It’s been a crazy week! Let me tell you a little bit about what I’ve been doing in the past 10 days.

First, I’ll rewind to training camp. We arrived in Gainesville, GA and spent 3 days doing nothing but worshipping, praying, training, and being poured into.
We left training camp on Sunday pumped up and ready to embark on our journey to the other side of the world. 42 hours later we (finally) arrived at our destination, Ratchaburi, Thailand. A quaint market town outside of Bangkok. It has been a whirlwind since we have arrived and I have loved every minute of it. It is so evident that the Lord is at work and He has revealed himself to us in mighty ways already. I am truly thriving here!

The first photo is of a few Burmese children arriving for a ministry we docalled Rice Seeds. The little boy was greeting me with a “Wai,” which I joyfully returned. The Wai is a customary greeting and sign of respect. We had a night full of games, dancing, and Bible stories for the kids. Many of these children’s parents are refugees and migrant workers from the bordering country of Burma. At Rice Seeds, the kids get to come laugh, have fun, learn about Jesus, and simply just be kids.

The second and third pictures I’ve attached is of my new sister in Christ, Kuk-Kik! Isn’t she beautiful?! Here in Thailand less than 1% of people are Christian. Most people are born into devout Buddhist families. Kuk-Kik had never heard of the name of Jesus or Christianity at all before we met her at the mall on Wednesday! When we first started telling her about God, she was so confused and asked to see a picture of Jesus! That may sound funny or wild to us Westerners, but most Thai people have no background in Christianity whatsoever. The gospel is as foreign to them as eating grasshoppers for dinner is to us. Despite Kuk-Kik’s background, after hearing the gospel in both English and in Thai and after hearing testimonies of what the Lord has done in the lives of the girls on our team, she truly understood God’s incredible and unconditional love for her. That same day, Kuk-Kik decided to give her life to Christ and follow the one true LIVING God!!!! I am so humbled and in awe of how faithful the Lord is. He heard our pleas for our friend and completely captured her heart. I am constantly shocked that Jesus would choose ME of all people to have a front row seat at watching hearts change.
Ephesians 3:8 “Although I am less than the least of all the Lord’s people, this grace was given me: to preach to the Gentiles the boundless riches of Christ.”

This place is so dark and in desperate need of the truth. I am thankful for an incredible team of passionate, like-minded, women of God that fight for each other and for the furthering of the Kingdom!! Pray for us as we continue to go out into the darkness and be the salt and light of the world! (Matthew 5:13) Thank you again for supporting me and praying for me and my team! God is moving in huge ways here in Thailand! I will try to blog as often as possible to share with y’all what He is doing!
