Distracted by the Word

It is Day 13 in Thailand, and I am only now posting my blog. During Training Camp in Gainesville, Georgia we learned that blogging is a way to share the Word with people everywhere,on the mission field and at home. I like to say my procrastination is for a good reason… but it’s not! In my down time I am too busy READING the Word and when I’m out and about I am too busy LIVING the Word through my connections with the Thai people and my team. I realized I have forgotten to SPEAK the Word. I forgot about the sole mission Christ has sent all of us on after his resurrection in which he said, “ Go and make disciples of all nations.” (Matthew 28:19)

I want to talk for a minute about being distracted, no not by the Word, but from the Word. The 21st century is crazy y’all. We have social media, gossip, easily accessible porn, drugs, and sadly so much more. You may have heard lately that the Christian Church is on a decline, but I believe that is not the whole story. All of this constant chatter in the world is on the INCLINE. It’s easy to fall away from God when you have so many easier and momentarily gratifying activities around you.

So what can we do about It?

CHOOSE HIM EVERYDAY. Learn about him more and more everyday. Share about him more and more everyday.  By doing this you will grow in your relationship with him exponential and fulfill that mission to make disciples for him. If you are not currently choosing him daily, start with making a goal to talk about Christ once a day, and read the Word for 10 minutes a day. Your thirst for him will grow, and you will soon be able to shut out all of distractions that keep us from him.

Let me know how it goes!

Thank you God for reminding me how I important It is to choose you daily during and beyond my time in Thailand. I love you
