Called By God?

“Called by God.” This phrase is used by so many people, but what does it sound like? Well I can’t speak for most people but I can take a shot on what my exuberance has been about. But, warning, this blog will contain the following (laughter, sarcasm, dad jokes, a BUNCH of misspelled words, random incomplete thoughts, and a lot of God doing some righteous stuff).

As Samwise Gamgee once said “It’s dangerous business going outside your door, mister Frodo. You never know were you might get swept off to.” …but I want to get swept far away and have adventures. Wanderlust weighed heavily on my heart. One day as I thought of life out side of school, my mom (or as I call her Kimbo Slice) came into my room and said she had found something I might think is cool. The organization was called AIM and one the of many thing they do is send college age kids on missions trips for a month or longer. And I thought to my self “This is going to be legen…WAIT FOR IT………………………………………Dary!”. Fast-forward a couple of months and I was on my way!

As my mom, with tears of sadness and my dad tears of happiness, I stepped on my plane to start my adventure. The first two days were fantastic! I got to meet my team. We range form the fast pace city of New York to Washington State – where stuff happens…I guess? Idk. Plus, some of them haven’t had What A Burger before (which is a sin if your from Texas). But I forgave them and we all quickly became friends going on a crazy ride together. Then we have our squad leader who looks like a mix between Shaggy and Kristof Poorzyngas. But the man is tight with God Like no ones business. He has a real heart for people and showing Gods love.

So our very weird, sarcastic, and God loving group headed out for Peru where miracles and laughter will be in great supply. That’s all for this blog right now. In the meantime keep it classy Chicago!
