So in my quiet time this morning God gave me a call to love… here is how it went. (Italics is directly what God had said.)
My heart breaks for the state of the world. Ever since Adam and Eve I weep for the world. You are My children and I want you to be with Me. I want you all to be in communion with Me. I want you to let Me love you—please let Me love you. That is My deepest desire.
[How can I partner with You in that then?]
Love.
Wholeheartedly love.
Love without abandon.
Love without reserve.
Love when it’s hard.
Love when you don’t want to love.
Love when every fiber of your being doesn’t want to love.
Love because I have called you to love.
Love because I love.
Love because I am love.
Love deeply and love hard.
Love with an all-consuming passion.
Love radically.
Love to pull others closer to Me.
Love because I have first loved you.
I want you to love enough to push past the uncomfortable; to push past the awkward; past the unsureness; and past the fear.
This is how we know that we live in Him and He in us: He has given us of His Spirit. And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent His Son to be the Savior of the world. If anyone acknowledges that Jesus is the Son of God, God lives in them and they in God. And so we know and rely on the love God has for us.
God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them. This is how love is made complete among us so that we will have confidence on the day of judgement: In this world we are like Jesus. There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.
We love because he first loved us. Whoever claims to love God yet hates a brother or sister is a liar. For whoever does not love their brother and sister, whom they have seen, cannot love God, whom they have not seen. And he has given us this command: Anyone who loves God must also love their brother and sister.
